Tulips  in Holland.

On a Walking Softly trip you...
Spend your days surrounded by art and culture. Whether contemplating great works of art in quiet galleries, admiring an architectural masterpiece amidst a bustling cityscape, or pondering the mysteries of prehistoric cave paintings and ancient civilizations, you’ll always be close to the timeless expression of human creativity. You don’t need to have a Ph.D. in art history, architecture, or archeology in order to appreciate our trips! Just bring a strong curiosity, a willingness to see new things, and very comfortable walking shoes. There are miles of galleries, streets, and paths to explore!

Many, many thanks for a most enjoyable "art feast"…I really appreciated how you made the artists come alive in your presentations. It was an experience I’ll never forget.

Benefit from our knowledge and expertise. We think it’s important for trip leaders to know their subject. But we think it’s more important for them to have the skill to reveal to you the deeper meanings behind the art you have come to see. You’ll travel in the company of leaders who are both subject matter experts and skilled communicators. We have visited the museums and sites, researched the hotels and restaurants, and found the best transportation routes to reduce hassles and give you the freedom you need to enjoy the art. Having worked as museum, art, and cultural resource professionals, we can often give you a special insight, arrange a special experience, and provide an insider’s perspective to the world of art and culture.

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you did to make this trip one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Paris has been wonderful! I will always have a treasure box of these memories. Thanks you for helping me to fill it.

Join the community. Stay in small hotels and inns within walking distance of the area’s highlights. Become a part of the neighborhood, and find your favorite baker, cafe, or shop. Travel as the locals do by using special passes and tickets. Linger and immerse yourself in your temporary home.

Having been on several Walking Softly trips, I have come to expect thorough organization, excellent leadership, and fun and interesting traveling companions. Walking Softly always delivers.

I’ve never been let down or the least bit disappointed by my accommodations with Walking Softly.

--NANCY DEGRAW

Lots of feedback and information was provided during the trip. Other choices were offered if you were not interested in one particular venue.

--MARY SAYLER

Travel with a small group of between 6 and 16 people. Your fellow trip participants come from a variety of backgrounds, but all have a fascination for the richness of the human artistic experience and a desire the delve into its ageless mystery.

I have loved all your trips.
